Christianity in Thailand has a long history. It was introduced by European missionaries in early 1550s when Portuguese mercenaries arrived in Ayutthaya.

Christianity played significant role in the modernization of Thailand in social and educational institutions. There are plenty of international schools from kindergarten to university founded by Christian foundation, and also orphanages and some foundation for poverty.

It represents under 1% of national population, and some churches can be found in Bangkok. There are 5 major Christian denominations, the Roman Catholic Church, the Southern Baptists, the Seventh Day Adventists, the Church of Christ in Thailand and the Evangelical Fellowship of Thailand.
