There is no explanation needed to talk about Buddhism in Thailand. It is widely believed by Thais, and it gives the most influences in Thais life.

They adopted Theravada Buddhism at an early age and thereafter influenced the religious history of Thailand by invading the central valley of the Menam Chao Phya and setting up the Kingdom of Dvaravati which lasted from the third to the seventh centuries. Theravada Buddhism in Thailand was further strengthened by the Kings in the history.

There are numerous Buddhist temples and Buddhist monks are highly respected in society. There are several rules you should keep and taboos you shouldn't do in Thailand following Buddhism.
